In the rapidly evolving field of AI, staying current with research can be a daunting task. I recently discovered consensus.app and it's quickly become a powerful tool in my research workflow. This combination has significantly streamlined my process for synthesizing existing research and gaining insights into the latest research on various topics I'm interested in.

Quick Steps

Let's consider a practical example: quickly getting up to speed with the latest research on "Prompt Engineering." Here's how I approach this using Consensus and Claude:

  1. I begin by using Consensus to search for recent papers on prompt engineering. Consensus aggregates and analyzes scientific literature, providing a comprehensive overview of the field. AI Centaur

  2. After reviewing the results, I export the top 10-20 findings as a CSV file. This step allows me to capture a broad yet manageable subset of the most relevant research.

  3. Next, I feed this CSV file into Claude.ai - I prefer the 3.5 Sonnet Model - and task Claude with synthesizing the information into concise, digestible summaries.

  4. Claude then provides a detailed overview, highlighting key trends, methodologies, and findings in prompt engineering research.

Benefits of This Approach

While Consensus does offer its own synthesis feature, I find that this manual export and Claude-assisted analysis offers additional benefits:

  • It allows for more nuanced queries and customized synthesis parameters.
  • The process is particularly useful when generating specific references for my own work.
  • It provides greater control over the scope and depth of the analysis.

This combo allows me to quickly grasp the current state of research in any given area, ensuring I'm well-informed about the latest developments without spending hours sifting through individual papers. What other AI tool have you found useful?
